Garden design Cheshire
Garden design Cheshire - A formal garden with mediterranean oasis
We have been designing stunning gardens and driveways in Cheshire for over 20 years.
This large garden design Cheshire project has a formal lawned area wrapping around the house, seperated from a sunken swimming pool area with a large scale mediterranean style rockery.
The heated swimming pool has a surround of diamond cut fine grain sandstone paving, with especially commissioned bull-nosed pool edgings to match. The kerb stones retaining the rockery, steps and walls are also formed from matching stone. The diamond cut sandstone paving used on our garden design Cheshire project was selected for its even colouration and subtle veining. When layed with 10mm pointed joints it becomes a large smooth, perfectly flat area ideally suited for bare feet around the swimming pool.
Our garden design Cheshire project has a large scale sandstone rockery using locally quarried stone in boulders of three quarters of a tonne. When selecting this stone we visited the quarry and hand selected a section of the rock that had the desired colouration and features, which was subsequently broken up into boulders for us. They did take some moving (2 large excavators) but the end result was well worth it, simply stunning and perfectly in scale with this large garden. This is typical of the level of detail that Prime Garden Design applies to every aspect of a project.
Perfectly placed at the end of the pool is an Amdega summer house which also serves as a furniture store in the winter. Again, factors such as the storage of furniture or dustbins always feature in our grounded and practical approach to garden design.
The rockery is planted up with mediterranean plants completing the warm and sunny feel. Fancy a dip? The swimming pool is useable all year round, thanks to a modern efficient boiler, hidden in a purpose designed pool house. This also houses the pool hoover and associated chemicals for treatments so that there are no unsightly items on show on a day to day basis.
A bespoke steel gazebo graces one end of the formal garden. Powder coated steel was chosen, not only for its longevity but also its strength, allowing realatively thin and dainty uprights to support the roof.
Hand dressed, sandstone block wall with Haddonstone coping seperates the raised seating area around the gazebo from the lawn. Dressing the blocks and laying this type of wall is a highly skilled job, we always ensure that the correct, qualified tradesman is employed to achieve the desired result.
